What, you mean you don't enjoy when you've got a charged attack CLEARLY loaded and you're mashing the button with no response, and then you die? I thought that was a feature!
I could see how you might think that considering that some of these recent additions to the game aren't that inspired. In all seriousness, yeah, amid my recent slide, I've encountered that "feature" quite a few times. It really feels like the game is rubbing it in at that point. 😅
I mean, they owe it all to us. Without the players, they're nothing. I think some corporate executives forget that there are people behind the dollar signs or simply think that they can run out whatever substandard product they want such that people will reflexively spend money.
On the flip side, I think users forget that they outnumber the higher-ups. Of course, these numbers don't negate the power imbalance. Even so, there is power in solidarity. Whether those feelings of community translate to concrete action is the fundamental question.
Pokemon Go and Nazis? I am very glad I deleted my Twitter account!
I do agree that there should be a grace period for Scopely to fix the mess that Niantic left behind. Interested to know if it will even be on their priorities though? Given that we know it wasn’t for Niantic…
My Twitter account still exists to get random news notifications and updates from friends. Bluesky is definitely a better time from the short spans I've spent on it.
Re PoGO, I really don't know. Until we see some evidence of some TLC extended to the game, I'm tempted to think that maybe they'll keep things status quo as long as the money keeps rolling in. I hope I'm wrong.
I did think of Ken & Co. when writing that section, but it's not directed specifically or exclusively at him. In fairness, it's tough trying to make content when you know viewers are only so engaged with the product. My own consumption of Pokémon GO-related media has declined even more so of late, which naturally makes me feel terrible.
But yeah, when the sense you get from a creator is that they're just glazing the game and its decision-makers, that seems like a good time to pull the plug. You can't put lipstick on a Skitty and make it seem like a Rayquaza, you know?

Fix the bugs! Dear lord do this for the long suffering players. You owe it to them!

If it is broke, but you still get the $$$s, don’t fix it?
Exactly. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but we already have past precedent. Show me something, Scopely.
YES! I stopped watching/listening to PoGo creators cause I got tired of hearing how “cool” and “awesome” all this bullshit is.
Skitty will be appearing in the wild so that’s cool. Huh? Say what, Ken?
