I mean, it’s a sensible move from a business point of view & I’m pleased for the people that will benefit from it.

Confirmation it was never about protecting the players though - I will never truly understand their reasoning.

Agreed. Supposedly, it was about the long-term health of the game. Does that not matter during certain events? Are not enough people engaging in these types of battles? Just once, I wish one of these Niantic decision-makers would cut through the corporate verbiage and just admit why they're doing something. "We're hemorrhaging users." "John Hanke made us do it."

Yeah, I always hated that they lifted it for certain events - completely undermined their argument.

Ha, there are few things I have less time for than corporate nonsense speak - probably to my detriment professionally!

The overlaps between Disney and Niantic/Scopely are really becoming more and more profound haha. I'm with you - I don't think that we should be applauding/celebrating moves that just get us back to square one. Sure, it's good and better for everyone that they did it, but throwing them a parade just for (almost) getting back to where they were BEFORE the dumb policy THEY implemented is counterproductive. So, hooray for a cap at 10, but also...what else ya got?

100%. It's a solution to a problem they created. Re Shadow Raids and Max Battles, they could probably make them unlimited, for all I care. For me to even consider buying Remote Raid Passes again, they'd have to lower that price point.

Oh well. Another take away and give back move! Let's hope it's not too late.

Yeah, not to get too overtly political, but when people are desperate, even a return to a shell of a former "normal" state feels like a win. COVID isn't even over, but damn if people didn't feel a sense of exhilaration when restrictions were lifted. Trump and his administration did it for their own selfish reasons, but his brokering of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas before his inauguration cast him in a positive light and made the outgoing Biden administration look terrible by comparison.

I'm not saying everyone is satisfied with stopping here--far from it, in fact--but that players will be pacified by the changes or will overestimate Scopely's influence here is unfortunate.
